P&G Brands Support People, Communities Impacted by Hurricane Ida
Help support Tide Loads of Hope through your everyday actions
After natural disasters, P&G brands help provide the comforts of home and a sense of normalcy to make each day a little better.
We recently provided support in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida – a destructive Category 4 Atlantic hurricane that made landfall on August 29 and became the second-most damaging and intense hurricane to make landfall in Louisiana on record, behind Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
As part of our disaster relief efforts, we washed more than 2,700 loads of laundry through our Tide Loads of Hope program and distributed more than 1,450 personal care kits, 2,800 rolls of Bounty, 7,500 rolls of Charmin and 19,800 Pampers diapers through our partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries.
The devastation from Hurricane Ida was widespread, so over the course of our two week deployment, we set up Tide Loads of Hope operations in five cities – LaPlace, Houma, Kenner, Ponchatoula and Galliano – to reach as many underserved communities as possible. In addition, P&G bulk products were distributed across a wide range of cities throughout impacted areas in Louisiana.
