Hope During Disaster: P&G’s Recent Relief Efforts
2 years. 6 communities. Thousands helped. Find out about our most recent relief efforts.
Life after these disasters — hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, wildfires — can feel like a nightmare. Families are displaced. Routine is interrupted. Nothing feels normal. And while the future is uncertain, one thing is not: We are committed to helping people rebuild their lives after disaster strikes. We work to make sure those affected have the everyday essentials they need, like clean clothes and personal care products, and to bring back a sense of normalcy in times of chaos.
How We Help: 3 Ways We Support People in Need
After a natural disaster strikes, we spring into action. Here are three ways we help individuals and communities who have been affected.
- We Dispatch Mobile Laundry Units
Created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Tide Loads of Hope restores a sense of normalcy and dignity through the basic comfort of clean clothes. Families affected by natural disasters are invited to have their clothes washed, dried and folded free of charge.
Since 2005, Tide has helped more than 48,000 families across the country affected by natural disasters, most recently in Texas, Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, California and Florida.
- We Distribute Personal Care and Cleaning Kits
In addition to providing mobile laundromats through Tide Loads of Hope, we distribute free personal care and cleaning kits containing everyday essentials so families can meet their basic hygiene and home-care needs.
The personal care kits, distributed in impacted areas by volunteers, contain Always, Crest, Head & Shoulders, Ivory, Gillette, Old Spice, Oral-B, Pampers, Pantene, Secret and Venus products. The cleaning kits contain Bounty, Charmin, Dawn, Febreze, Mr. Clean, Swiffer and Tide products.
- We Donate to a Relief Fund
We also invite current and retired employees to contribute to our relief efforts through the P&G Employee and Retiree Disaster Relief Fund. The collective donations received are matched up to $100,000 by the P&G Fund.
