Help Hispanics, help America
Hispanic people are critical contributors to the current and future success of the United States.
The statistics are impressive.
- As of 2020, Latinos make up 19% of the total U.S. population.
- Studies expect that percentage to grow to 29% over the next 40 years.
- Over 80% of working Hispanic adults provide essential services for the U.S. economy.
- Latinos represent the fastest growing small business segment, growing six times faster than any other group in the United States.
- Hispanic-owned businesses are contributing more than $700 billion in sales to the economy annually.
It’s clear the Hispanic community makes a tremendous positive impact. However, despite these contributions, 82% of U.S. Hispanics believe they are undervalued today. Hispanic Star’s mission is to focus on Hispanic support, empowerment and advancement. The need to ensure the members of this community are equipped to achieve their full potential is more important than ever. When you help Hispanics, you help America.

Promoting bright futures through bright smiles
Through continued work with programs like Closing America’s Smile Gap Scholarship Fund, and their partnership with Crest and Oral-B, Hispanic Star can allocate funds where they are needed most.
As part of the #ClosingAmericasSmileGap program, Crest & Oral-B are dedicated to closing the representation gap that exists within the dental profession – especially with African American and Hispanic groups.
Crest and Oral-B have donated over $150M in the last year to aspiring minority dental professionals (hygienists and dental assistants) that needed financial help to complete their degree.
Often, scholarship recipients are the first in their family to graduate college, let alone pursue a higher degree.
The team gave out over 15 scholarships in partnership with the Hispanic Star – by partnering with three different dental hygiene schools with robust Hispanic student populations.
Students apply to the scholarship program and are selected based on their applications – including details about why diversity in the dental profession is important to them and how they will go on to serve their communities in the future.
Crest and Oral-B believe that every child deserves the chance to have a healthy smile – including seeing a dental professional that looks like them and speaks their language.
Crest and Oral-B believe everyone deserves great oral health. In fact, their mission is to make it a reality for everyone in America. That’s why they have been working for over 60 years to support healthy oral care habits.
